LESSON 01 · 15 min

Find your first useful digital service

Turn something you can practice into something a small business needs.

1. Start with one small problem

Pick one service you can learn and demonstrate: rewriting a business’s service description, formatting a simple flyer, or building a one-page website. Avoid offering everything at once.

2. Choose a practice business

Invent a neighborhood lawn care business. Write its name, service area, three services, and one clear action a customer should take. This is a practice project, not a real client.

3. Make a sample

Create a one-page service sheet using your own words and images you have permission to use. Clearly label it “Practice project.” Read it on your phone and fix anything that is hard to understand.

4. Ask for feedback before asking for money

Share the sample in Skills & work. Ask: Is the service clear? Can you find the contact action? What would you change? Improve your sample before offering the service.

Your next step

Write one sentence: “I help [type of business] with [one specific task].” Share it with the community.
