LESSON 02 · 20 min

Give AI a useful brief

Practice asking clearly, checking the output, and keeping private information private.

1. Bring a clear task

AI works better with a specific audience, purpose, and format. Use made-up business details while practicing. Never paste passwords, private case files, health records, or a client’s sensitive information.

2. Try this practice brief

“Help me draft a 120-word homepage introduction for a fictional lawn care business in East Texas. It offers mowing, edging, and seasonal cleanups. Use plain language. Finish with a request for a quote. Don’t invent testimonials, awards, prices, guarantees, or phone numbers.”

3. Be the editor

Check every claim against the details you supplied. Remove invented facts, vague promises, and sentences a customer would not understand. Read the result aloud. You are responsible for what you deliver.

4. Improve it once

Ask for a clearer first sentence, a shorter version, or a different tone. Compare the versions yourself. Pick the one that makes the service easiest to understand.

Your next step

Create a checked, 120-word description for your fictional business. Mark the details you verified.
